US National Trade Estimate Report on Foreign Trade Barriers
Submissions to USTR further to developing the 2000 Foreign Trade Barriers Report identify a wide range of frictions between US exporters and their markets. A review of almost 60 submissions indicates that Canada has been identified by a number of US industries. The following, though not complete, indicates the types of issues raised thus far:

Lack of ratification of the WIPO agreements
Curiously, the Canada - Chile FTA was also cited as a source of tariff advantage for Canadian exporters of forest and potato products. Canada and the U.S. recently agreed on the implementation agreement arising from the WTO dairy export pricing dispute settlement case. Both the US National Milk Producers Federation and the U.S. Dairy Export Council have expressed satisfaction with the agreement, which occurred subsequent to their submissions to USTR.
